JONATHAN BUCKJONATHAN BUCK, Senior Project Manager

Jonathan has over ten years experience leading strategic consulting engagements for a wide range of clients from Fortune 500 leaders to small startups.  He has worked in a broad range of industries, including healthcare (biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and providers), technology, finance and consumer products.

Prior to working with Fitzgerald Analytics, Jonathan spent over six years with Monitor Group in the US, Europe and Africa.  At Monitor, he managed both strategy and technology engagements, including several years leading software development teams to create web applications based on Monitor's proprietary intellectual property in the areas of growth and marketing strategy.  He also developed several components of a leading biotech's information strategy, introduced and implemented Six Sigma with the executive team of a leading hospital network, and helped launch biotechnology products.

After Monitor, Jonathan worked with private equity clients and industry leaders on strategic issues such as due diligence for potential investments, market entry strategies and competitive market assessments.

Jonathan has a BS with honors in Operations Research & Industrial Engineering from Cornell University.  He also received a M.Eng. in Operations Research from Cornell with a dean's certificate in Financial Engineering, a joint program with the Johnson Graduate School of Management.

MEGAN SHAWMEGAN SHAW, Project Manager

Megan brings a mix of investing and strategic consulting experience to FA. With a background in private equity, Megan is experienced in investment analysis, due diligence and post-acquisition strategic and operational improvements. Prior to joining FA, Megan worked for Monitor Group and Monitor’s affiliated private equity fund, Monitor Clipper Partners. While at Monitor, Megan worked as a project manager for the CEO, overseeing international events and third party partnerships. Most recently, she was an Associate at Purepay, a private equity firm focused on the financial services industry.

Megan holds a BA in Economics with honors from Amherst College. She has been a leader in Inspire, a non-profit consulting organization and is currently involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

 

Kevin CabralKEVIN CABRAL, Project Manager

Kevin helps Fitzgerald Analytics clients to solve tough problems at the intersection of business, analytics and technology. He has recently led client engagements focused on data management, CRM, multivariate data visualization and retail analytics.

His unique multi-disciplinary approach stems from his experience as a manager in business, analytic and technology roles which led him to recognize the vital impact of building connections across these discipline. Kevin began his career as an entrepreneur founding the Internet's first social network for sports fans. He then worked as an analyst at a leading hedge fund and was product manager of a retail banking information service. Prior to joining Fitzgerald Analytics, Kevin managed data-driven methodologies for retail distribution and sales force management at the consultancy Novantas.

Kevin holds an M.B.A. with honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in Economics, Marketing and Strategy, and a B.A. in History from Cornell University.

 

GNIEWKO LUBECKI, Consultant

Gniewko is a solution-centric technologist with a robust background in data analysis, information technology and business, with extensive experience in data mining and statistical analysis of large data sets. Gniewko began his career at Lazard Freres, the investment banking firm, where he designed and implemented data analysis and reporting systems that integrated multiple data sources and made trading desk processes more efficient. In addition to his analysis and reporting work at Lazard, Gniewko used data mining and statistical Factor Analysis methods to enhance the company's mortgage-backed security prepayment model. His work helped the fixed-income portfolio weather the mortgage prepayment wave of the late '90s. He also created and managed the IT department of a fast-growing retail distributor, upgrading the company's technology infrastructure from stand alone workstations to a complete network with multiple servers, MS SQL database, Navision enterprise management software and reliable backup systems.

Gniewko has also managed two web companies, focusing on designing technology and data infrastructure assets to support the firms' business strategy. He set up data collection and analysis systems to obtain actionable business intelligence from user activity on the websites, ultimately increasing company revenue more than ten-fold. In addition, he created processes and systems for testing and optimizing various elements of online content, with the goal of promoting desired activity on the site (e.g. registrations, purchases, etc.).

Gniewko has a BA in Physics from Harvard, and an MS in Molecular Biology from MIT.

MANUEL DE LEON

MANUEL DE LEON, Consultant

Manuel is an experienced database architect who has worked for leading firms in financial services and retail, designing and building sophisticated Microsoft SQL and Access databases for them. His data-based applications include enhanced financial trading systems for Swiss Re, and complex systems for large-scale automated transformation and analysis of retail transaction data. Manuel has solid knowledge of application development and superior problem solving skills using Microsoft technologies including Visual Basic, .Net, VBA, Excel and Access.

Manuel has B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Santo Domingo Institute of Technology in the Dominican Republic. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.

JOSEPH COLEMAN, Consultant

Joseph designs and builds creative models that apply the scientific method to critical business decisions. A research specialist with a Masters degree from Columbia University in Mechanical Engineering, Joseph built his analytic skills while contributing to projects at Columbia's Laboratory for Microscale Transport Phenomena and at the Earth Institute. Prior to joining FA, Joseph worked for Columbia University's Millennium Village Project Energy Group, whose research mission is to accelerate poverty reduction in sub-Saharan Africa through sustainable development and resource conservation. Collaborating with engineers, economists and policy experts, Joseph created models of biofuel generation potential using Geographic Information Systems. Key insights involved the impact of proximity to infrastructure on productivity and economic benefits.

In addition to supporting FA's private-sector clients with cutting-edge analysis, Joseph is an active contributor to FA's work in the non-profit and social sectors.

MEGAN SHAWDANA PILLAI, Consultant

As an analytics and modeling specialist, Dana assists clients in making decisions that enable long-term profitability and sustainability. Prior to joining Fitzgerald Analytics, Dana established the Geographic Information System for the Millennium Villages Project – the flagship proof of concept vehicle for the achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. Dana helped to provide infrastructure access to households in Africa with extremely limited budgets by working with field teams in Africa and New York to establish and implement best practices in regional planning. In addition, he has acted as an advisor in Liberia and Kenya on investment strategies in electricity infrastructure development, especially with regards to cost comparisons across different technologies.

Dana holds a MA in International Affairs from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University.

MEGAN SHAWALEX ROBERTS, Consultant

Before joining FA, Alex spent three years with the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society Program, working with teams of consultants, researchers, MBA faculty and deans to reshape the MBA degree. As a founding member of the Program’s Center for Business Education, Alex used his well rounded analytical and research skills to influence how MBA curriculum and research incorporated environmental, sustainability and social issues.
Prior to his time at the Aspen Institute, Alex worked with the Drum Major Institute for Public Policy as a Development Intern, where he assisted in building a donor tracking database and his research into new donor prospects increased the long term viability of the Institute.

Alex has a B.S. from Cornell University in Human Development with concentrations in Economics and Government.

JASON ROCHE, Analyst

As an Analyst at FA, Jason creates models which give insight to high stakes strategic decisions. Prior to joining FA, Jason worked as an Executive Compensation Analyst at Pearl Meyer & Partners, where he conducted analyses of client financial and pay strategies, as well as the design of comprehensive compensation strategies and programs.

At Cornell University, where he received a BA in Economics with honors, Jason worked as a Research Assistant, compiling and analyzing statistical data to test researchers' hypotheses on promotion rates in the for-profit and non-profit sectors, on the relationship between risk and incentives in agency theory, and on the labor market effects of employer recruitment choice. Jason has also worked at Citigroup Smith Barney as a Research Analyst, utilizing his research and data analysis skills to prepare various financial reports, especially for the pharmaceutical industry.

CHRIS PINCKNEY, Analyst

Chris joined FA directly from Deloitte Consulting, where he built and maintained Activity Based Costing models for a Federal Government client in Washington DC. Chris used his analytical skills and costing knowledge to improve efficiency, decrease costs and properly allocate government resources. Before joining Deloitte Consulting, Chris worked as a Budget Analyst at the Social Security Administration maintaining accurate account information and providing cost/benefit analysis for the Social Security Trust Funds.

Chris received his MA in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University, and his BA from the University of Michigan, where he majored in Economics and History.

MATTHEW YANG, Analyst

Reflecting FA's belief in the value of analytics across a broad spectrum of applications, Matthew brings to FA a background in political campaigns and non-profit ventures. Before joining FA, Matthew was the Co-Campaign Manager for a New York City Council campaign that exceeded expectations in voter registration, primary voter turnout, and effective community outreach. One of his key responsibilities was to make sense of voter data using statistical analysis and to create micro-targeted canvassing strategies. Most recently, he has been involved in a social venture focused on mountaineering safety in Tanzania.

Matthew received his B.A. in International Relations from University of Southern California, where he co-founded the Literary Association. He also attended Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan and Siena Italian Studies in Siena, Italy.

Operations

NAOKO FITZGERALD, Director

Naoko manages various aspects of Fitzgerald Analytics’ firm building and business strategy department, and leads the firm’s partnerships and alliances initiatives. Before joining FA, Naoko was a Program Associate at the Japan Center for International Exchange (JCIE/USA), a think tank dedicated to strengthening Japan's role in international affairs in New York, and worked on a wide range of US-Japan exchange and research projects. Prior to joining JCIE, Naoko worked five years on Wall Street and obtained NASD Series 7, 55, 63, and 65 licenses while working as a financial consultant at Smith Barney and a US Equity sales trader at Mitsubishi Securities (USA).

Naoko has a BA in Economics and International Relations from Boston University.

MEGAN SHAWLAUREN KANE, Director of Operations

Lauren oversees the quality and growth of FA’s client-service operations, including training, development, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives. She brings a decade of banking and operations experience to the FA team. Her past accomplishments include management of retail banking locations, community bank marketing campaigns and development of operating standards for growing businesses and non-profits.

Lauren believes strongly in community service and is an executive board member of the Lansdowne Economic Development Corporation, a group committed to economic revitalization of Lauren’s home town, Lansdowne PA. Lauren has a BA in Business and Education from Cabrini College.

MEGAN SHAWDERRIC DAVIS, IT Manager

A key player in FA’s “technology forward” posture, Derric manages FA’s portfolio of technology & infrastructure assets, including our secure data processing servers, database & analytic platforms, remote collaboration tools and our proprietary knowledge management systems. Prior to joining FA, Derric ran enterprise-level data replication programs for retail clients, mapped network topologies for new businesses and rolled out software for retail POS systems.
A graduate of Hofstra University with a BA in Political Science, Derric has adapted his career to embrace an affinity for creatively deployed technology. An avid fan of innovation, Derric remains abreast of emerging technology tools and platforms, which he deploys to support FA’s high client service standards.

MEGAN SHAWLUCY van der WALL, Manager of Operations

A consultant with experience in technology, non-profit governance, research and international relations, Lucy helps ensure the consistent high quality of our services by streamlining internal operations, and optimizing our business processes with clients and partners. Lucy started her career as a Financial Services Technology Solutions Consultant at Accenture, and led multiple international projects for financial institutions such as National Australia Bank and Standard Chartered Bank. Prior to joining FA, Lucy worked as an Assistant Program Officer for the Japan Center for International Exchange (JCIE), a Tokyo based think tank, where she managed multilateral and cross-sectoral dialog and research projects.

Lucy has a Bachelor of Commerce from Australian National University with a major in Accounting and a minor in Economics, as well as a Master's degree in International and Community Development from Deakin University in Australia. Lucy also received a scholarship from the Japanese government and studied at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan.
